About Simon Hall
Welcome to Boatshed Sant Carles based on the beautiful southern Spanish coast 2 hours south of Barcelona.
The team here consists of Simon and Caroline Hall currently living on our yacht a Jeanneau 42CC in the MDL Marina at Sant Carles.
We are covering the area south of Cambrils to Alcanar.
We are NOT new to Boatshed, we have previously run 2 very successful Boatshed brands from their conception.
We are both experienced sailors having owned a number of boats, cruising in areas from the West Coast of Scotland to the Solent over a number of years plus a few charters in the Med.
We are very excited to be working with Boatshed again and look forward to meeting clients both old and new.
When we sailed from southern France on route to Gibraltar we never envisaged falling upon this
little hidden gem. After a month we realised the town was slowly wrapping its arms around us like warm familiar blanket and we wanted to stay for more. So here we are with no rush to leave and
plans to explore the Balearics and surrounding areas on Schona Mara.
Sant Carles de la Ràpita is a small town in Catalonia, Spain; situated more or less equidistant from
Barcelona, Valencia and the Balearics. The town sits at the base of the magnificent Serra Del Montsia
mountain range in the shelter of Alfacs bay; closely neighboured with the natural beauty of the Delta
Ebro with its 300 species of birds, including a charming pink flamingo population.
Sant Carles de la Ràpita is a traditional busy working Spanish town with a population of approx
15,000. It is known for the production of rice and salt and is also an important fishing port,
particularly for shellfish and prawns. The town has an abundance of beaches, tapas bars, shops and
a weekly market. The sun shines all year round with ambient temperatures averaging, summer time
brings long warm days and fiestas.
Sant Carles MDL marina is a first class marina, the facilities are excellent. The staff are very friendly
and many speak English. It is a five minute walk into the town. The marina has beautiful infinity pool,
bar / restaurant and lounge are with a library. There approximately 650 British boats with owners
coming and going all year round. It really is worth a visit.
