While boarding I appreciated the step provided as the gate is quite high off the dock on the port side. The long expansive bow is impressive; high steel bulwarks, covered walkway and stern provide protection from wave action while underway or weather while at anchor.

This boat is unique as it effectively has two living areas: pilothouse and below decks. The gorgeous mahogany and acacia floors throughout the boat, etched glass doors, whimsical décor and layout of the berthing quarters demonstrate purposefulness and craftsmanship. There is a stout-hearted soul in evidence here.

You enter via a door, either port or starboard, midpoint in the pilothouse. Aft is a U-shaped settee and large table. This is a cozy area complete with bookshelves on either side and natural light through large windows. Just forward of the door to starboard is a space (which may be set up as a bar or buffet area) with an under counter refrigerator and TV hidden behind cabinet doors. The helm station is positioned starboard with two helm chairs and a dash laid out with easily operated controls, two 12” Simrad MFD’s, and all gauges. To port is a long cabinet with storage below -- a perfect place for paper charts while underway.

A companionway leads to the lower living quarters.

The large dining and U-shaped galley areas are inviting. The galley, starboard, has an enviable number of cupboards, four burner propane cooktop, LG microwave/convection oven, and midsize refrigerator. The very large dining table seems able to seat about 8 - 10 people, or is a great place to spread out a puzzle or project for people to work on together. The washer and dryer are located just forward of the galley on the starboard side, hidden behind cabinet doors yet conveniently located.

The private guest suite is furthest forward with an elevated platform queen bed, private toilet, sink and vanity. The shower is accessed via the guest suite and located in the bow. It is very large and tiled; beautiful. An interesting note: both toilets (guest and master) are European household toilets using freshwater and gravity flush. No seawater, no vacuum pumps - just a quiet flush!

A companionway leads aft from the dining area. The full stand-up engine compartment (with ample room to easily access all components) is located midway to starboard under the pilothouse. Storage cabinets and a hanging locker are to port.

The master suite is aft. Though compact, it is absolutely relaxing and cozy: a built-in queen bed against the aft bulkhead, small sink vanity, private toilet, and a small settee are designed with European efficiency.

The current owner expressed falling in love with the boat at first sight – I certainly understand the sentiment!

Broker comment: In order to educate myself more thoroughly I spoke with the owner specifically regarding the stability of the vessel given her hull configuration and lack of passive or active stabilizers. His paraphrased response: the vertical and longitudinal centers of gravity favor stability in terms of both pitch and roll, her massive ballast resists roll and dampens any motion that does occur. This boat has been weighed at 135000 pounds which is extremely heavy for 52' of waterline length. She has a deep draft, the weight is low, all tankage is on the bottom of the hull representing a double hull and cement ballast fills her significant keel and surrounds her tanks in the hull itself. He commented that when he took delivery of her, he encountered 5-6’ beam seas; though it was not motionless, it was comfortable and he has always felt safe.

VIRTUAL TOUR - VIDEO - 100+ PHOTOS - FULL SPECS CAN BE VIEWED OF THIS BOAT!

This custom, steel-hulled, Dutch-built, ocean-worthy, heavily ballasted boat is stunning, inside and out!

She was originally built for a knowledgeable and experienced owner for work in the North Sea. Approaching her, I am immediately impressed by her high, magnificent bow, protected walk-around and gracious curved stern. The pilothouse sits quite aft with large reverse-raked windows which provide an enormous amount of light, and great visibility from the helm chair.

I felt warmly welcomed aboard by a delightful interior which exudes “Old World” elegance and charm: gorgeous mahogany paneling and new acacia wood floors marry beautifully. Large seating areas in the pilothouse and below decks offer quiet spots for reading, or for a sociable game of cards. Accents of wired sconces and hanging lamps harken to earlier sea-going times. I can easily imagine a day of entertaining – an elegant dinner party for a bunch of family and friends, fresh off a beach, ready for a table full of crab. And the lucky ones will get to fully enjoy her overnight, in two comfortable staterooms!

Powered by a Mercedes dry-stack, keel-cooled engine, which the current owner refers to as a "low maintenance beast", it is powerful with no turbos, no salt water running through its veins, and no electronic controls. The house batteries provide 1440 amp hours of capacity, the main generator is a Mercedes 19 kw to run the hydraulic bow thruster and provide power for the four electrical systems (12v, 24v, 220 and a 380v/3phase which runs the windlass) while at anchor. A newer, extensive navigation suite by Simrad updates the helm station, which is well laid out with extensive visibility and comfort in most weather conditions.

She is heavy in the slings weighing approximately 126,000 pounds and has a full keel which contribute to her stability and ocean-going capabilities. And a very large "fishtail" rudder offers ease of handling in close quarters by magnifying directional prop thrust. Her steel hull, sides and keel were gauge tested with high ratings in 2016. Her bottom was blasted, prepped and painted March 2020; she is prepared for many years to come. Her AC system has been updated and simplified to be compatible with most North American power sources. However, her Dutch roots are apparent with AC appliances that run on 230v; several European AC outlets are found throughout the boat with small plug inverters to provide power to charge cell phones, computers, and other small appliances.

If you're thinking of an ocean-capable trawler (Nordhavn, Kadey-Krogen, Bering) and can appreciate the real workboat origins of this vessel (and a much more modest price) then this small ship is worth considering.

Welcome to a long range trawler capable of traveling wherever your dreams may take you!
